Health app and Firmware update

Confused: While golfing today, I used the "running" tile with new GPS Power Saver on for the first time. It showed we walked 2.7 miles for nine-holes when I know it's closer to 2.1 miles. I didn't expect to see more miles, but fewer. I thought, by definition, fewer GPS sample point meant lower total distance on a zig-zaggy course. Anyone?
You might want to look at those points and see if they're accurate or not. One point on the "edge" that was off by .3 miles out of bounds could do that. It could be a freak thing (talk to anyone who uses a GPS a lot and they have stories), but part of me would be concerned that perhaps the power saver mode doesn't let the GPS settle down before taking the sample.

Hey Nate, I'm curious why you are turning this feature off. Isn't it just intended to, as it says, fill in the blanks when the Band 2 is off.
I'm not Nate, but I can tell you why I have it turned off - there's never a time when I'm carrying my phone that I don't have my Band on. As such, the feature (in my case) carries a greater risk of double-counting steps then being any benefit. Again, that's just me, so I appreciate the ability to turn the feature off.

If you've suddenly found a jump in steps taken in a ordinary day, it's certainly something to consider as a potential source of error.

Same issue here. 950XL (W10M) and Band 2. Have had problems with the text keyboard, cortana, connectivity issues for some time now. Sometimes, uninstalling the app and reinstalling it fixes the issue, but it's always temporary. Was really hoping the updates would solve this. I had my hopes up after the install, but as before, the features are broken again. Band 2 is not yet fully compatible with W10M from what I can tell. Really hoping they fix this soon. I hate bugs like this. Especially when they take months to fix.

Same here.. The Band 2 worked perfect! before the .71 and new health/band 2 update.. now I am about to throw the band in the wall..
*Battery only lasts about 15-18h (before 30-35h)
*No Notifications what so ever, it can randomly pop tho.. (before never ever had that issue)
*The keyboard dont work anymore (before it worked (after i changed the lang. to ENG from SWE)
*The steps are out of sync, sometimes the phone shows more steps than the band and vise versa (before, never happend)

What happend???!

A new update to the Health app was pushed in the store yesterday. For me this second update fixed the sync problem I had after installing the first update.

Yes, that's it exactly for me. The one day I didn't realize motion settings had been turned on, my step count was over the roof. I mean literally thousands of steps more than my Garmin watch (which is fairly liberal with step counts anyway). Today, with motion turned off on the phone, my Garmin registered 13742 steps, while the Band says 13904. That's a virtual tie.

And yes, there is rarely a time when I have the phone but am not wearing the Band.

Good points. Stray GPS points can do that. It could be a "one-off" problem. But I agree I hope it's not the GPS failing to settle down due to the intermittent sampling of the GPS Power Saver. I'll keep playing with it.

I did a run the other day and Band 2 tracked 27,6km and runtastic 30,7km. Normally they are max 200m off. So save mode inly for very straight runs. I tracked for 3:15h and the Band went down to 64%. I switch all off only HR and GPS. In normal mode it dies after 4:45h

Still not seeing the update on iOS. Did get the new OS X app update, and it updated my B2 firmware but nothing on my iPh.....

Hello lads,

I have an issue with my microsoft band 1... since I've got a Lumia 950XL it can't receive whatsapp nor telegram notifications on the notification center.
With my old lumia 930, the band was working like a charm. Is it happening to you the same?

Still no iOS update- however I was able to update the firmware via the desktop app.

Where before the band step count was ~10% below Fitbit - today my ms band and Fitbit One are within 100 steps.

Yeah the GPS tracker samples slower, you see it on the map. Now you can run for 8 hours and loose those 3 lbs. (-;

Definitely steps count is more sensitive with B2... Or shall I say.. it's more accurate following last update.

Now the next step is to sort out HR.. And reflect daily recording of HR on the App.

So is this new battery issue something wide spread? It started on my Band 2 last Monday and I saw Thurrott tweet he was having the issue. It won't even stay connected long enough to finish the latest software update. I'd rather not have to take it in and exchange it if there's a way to fix.

Could you elaborate on the issue? I haven't noticed any issues with the battery life. I did a 2 hour 40 minute jog/walk with GPS without power-saving mode on Saturday and still had about 30% battery left when I was done.

As for the firmware update, I kept getting an error that my phone lost connection to the Band at step 2 of 7. I tried power cycling the Band several times as well as disconnecting and reconnecting to the phone's Bluetooth, but I finally got the firmware update to go through only after power cycling my phone.
