Health + Fitness replacement

I'm interested in the same info. I used the GPS Tracker and Pedometer (step counting) features the most, so those are what I'm looking for good alternatives for.

Really interested in a simple to use Pedometer app to recommend to family (seniors).

Regarding GPS Tracker, here are several I've tried, but hadn't liked as much as the MSN Health & Fitness app, so still looking for other suggestions:
- A route tracker. Jog, bike, ski or drive
- RunBetter
- Runtastic PRO

I am moving to Adidas miCoach, it is a good one , it uses SensorCore and can pull in all your existing data from the devices !

I liked the steps function of Health & Fitness as it helps make sure I'm not spending too much time sitting at my desk. I looked for a simple pedometer app and they all seemed to be poorly rated. I found one called Run and Walk that looked to be a perfect replacement for the steps function, but unfortunately it only has metric measurements. Anyone recommend a basic pedometer app replacement?

I use Sensie. Good and detail for your places history.
Trying Microsoft Health, but after fill in the profile, it must connect to the Band. I still can't find the way to skip that so I can use SensorCore only... anyone can tell me? thanks

I also recently tried Microsoft Health and noticed that too, but I just assumed it only worked with the band and promptly uninstalled it. I'm looking for just a pedometer app. I may as well go back to Endomondo for the other stuff. I used to use my gmail account when on android, but on windows phone I'll have to create a new account since it will no longer work with a google signin.

microsoft health is sucks till the Band sync become optional...
i use edomondo too from android, and use same account in my lumia, its sync everything...
you just need login to web with google+ and make password (really forgot bout this) so i can login edomondo use my gmail and password and boom. everything there...

I installed Microsoft Health today, and in the setup screen that prompts to pair with a Band, in smaller text at the bottom of the screen it says "I don't have a Band". I just tapped there, and got into the app.

What was odd is that it wouldn't work until I had uninstalled MSN Health & Fitness, and then gone back into MS Health, into "My Phone" and enabled Motion Settings.

Still won't track my route though. Might have to look at miCoach.

It can use the pedometer only on my 636 with SensorCore.

Did you see the "I don't have a Band" text at the bottom of the initial setup screen when you first went into the app, or are you saying you had to uninstall the MSN Health & Fitness app & change a setting in the Microsoft Health App first? I already uninstalled the MSN Health & Fitness app and the initial setup screen only has a "go to settings" screen which just takes you to the phones Bluetooth screen.

Here is the order I did things.

1. Installed Microsoft Health
2. Ran it, chose "I don't have a Band"
3. Tapped the top right icon, My Phone, enabled Motion Settings

This showed 0 steps

4. Manually started a Sync

This showed 0 steps

5. Uninstalled MSN Health & Fitness

6. Disabled Motion Settings in MS Health

7. Force closed MS Health

8. Restarted MS Health and re enabled Motion Settings.

This then started a sync and displayed my steps.

I have found though, that Microsoft Health will only read SensorCore data for TODAY. If you don't start in on a certain day, that day will show as 0 steps. Not good.

Doh! I just found out why. I got caught out by the onscreen buttons covering this option on my Lumia 640! It didn't occur to me at first that this option was probably underneath the onscreen buttons and sure enough it was.

How does this app work? I took it out for a quick walk and it only showed 120 steps at first. It wasn't until a while later when I was not walking it then updated to 755 steps which is odd. Does it just use GPS or does it actually use the accelerometer to measure steps? Either way I find it odd that it doesn't seemingly update in realtime. Need to do some more testing.

In my experience, MSN Health & Fitness is more real-time than Microsoft Health.

Same problem here, I'll try edomondo as well, hopefully it can give me the overall overview like H&F, not just for measured workouts.

So am I correct in saying there is no single app in the store that will do sensorcore steps, GPS tracking, and calorie counting?
