Hey guys do you guys suffer any scrolling issues on the start screen? I am having this issue where the screen jitters and stutters when scrolling anywhere. I sent my phone in for repair and they said they found nothing. I cant send it back again because I have to keep paying for the shipping to send it to Microsoft Canada. Microsoft cant do anything as they cannot guarantee if they will repair it or send a replacement. If anyone has this issue, please reply quick.

scrolling lag and stutter has been noted by several users that have the Cortana tile enabled mid or large size on the main screen.
I know there is a small chance this is true for yours, but it would be a simple fix. Resizing the tile to small or removing it would eliminate the stutter in scrolling.

Hope that helps. If a soft reset doesn't work then I'd try a hard reset, and would possibly refrain from restoring a recovery backup to make sure I am not bringing the problem back due to a setting issue.

good luck

Yes I never have the Cortana tile pinned to start screen. But wait what do you mean by the backup part. See I got the phone from repair and then I signed in with my Microsoft account. I chose do not restore from previous backup but right now some apps that I reinstalled have my old settings in it. So did I restore backup or was that suppose to happen?

It sounds like you haven't restored a backup. I never restore backups either when doing a hard reset for the same reasons that Derausgewanderte mentions. I also have no issues with stutter on my 830 but I don't use Cortana and have removed the tile from start screen.

I think I solved the issue. I did a hard reset and then rather than signing it with ms account asking at the setup, I did it after. This way I got enough time to turn out off apps+ setting syncing. Finally cracked the code after 5 months of living with this terrible issue. OCD

No idea why but it is still bad. Sometimes it randomly happens. I think it is an issue with all Lumias

I also have this issue (and OCD as well). From what I know about this phenomenon, it only happens when scrolling by dragging finger continuously on screen (not by flicking and lifting finger immediately off the screen - in that case it's buttery smooth). I don't know the cause but it's the same on all Lumia devices I've tried (even on those with pure motion (60Hz screen refresh rate)), some Android devices but not on iPhone (iPhone is perfectly smooth however you scroll). In combination with OCD it's ruining my user experience since I bought my first WP (Lumia 630) and I bought it instead of Android because it was supposed to be faster and smoother 😊
