The question is: when? It has been almost two months since the announcement above. I can't wait on it even though I've never even used it before; Path, however, seems to fulfill my need in a social media.

I'm not a developer. But hey, they demoed the app on the 1020 in the same day (there's an Engadget YouTube video about it). Does it really take that long to 'test' it?

Yes.

But it's more than that. Demo and proof-of-concept apps are usually written with a subset of functionality, only that which is minimally needed to support the demonstration or concept.

A demonstration of the app does not mean that they're anywhere near having a full app online and ready-to-go.
