Here Drive+ Beta Troubleshooting

I'd set up a commute between my house and work. I was going to give up on it, because it told me to stay on the expressway farther than I'd wanted. It doesn't seem to take traffic into consideration when suggesting route. But then I saw somewhere that said if you drive your route a few times it will learn it. So I did. Today was the first time that it routed me the way I like to go, through a small city rather than around it. I think that was only the third or fourth time I've used it. Not that it does anything really - it just shows a map, doesn't announce turns (I guess it assumes you know how to get to work), but I would hope that if there were a traffic problem it would route you around it. I don't know if it will offer suggestions off the beaten path or not. It would be nice to know...

I'm happy to see North Up as a mode for the map now, as that's my view of preference. I do have a couple of things left on my wish list, though. When you are coming up to your destination, I'd like it to say which side of the street the destination is on, and also say the name or address of the destination, whichever you put in, as well as putting it on the screen. My six year old Garmin does this, and it's handy when you've put in an address, to be able to see it on the screen as you arrive, as well as hear it.

HERE Drive + worked admirably on my recent road trip (3000+ miles), but the one thing that I wished for was that it would pause music playback to make announcements - not a huge deal with music, but it was driving me nuts with audio books (related XBOX Music audio book gripe - come on, gimme gapless playback! I feel like I missed the first two words of each chapter!).
