I agree with so much in this thread. Just to add the contract on my L920 is up and the M8 is the only upgrade WP choice available to me, but its not a Lumia.
For us on grandfathered plans 2 year extensions are the best value, but we don't have a choice. I demand value for my money and an 830 certainly is not. Its a $270 premium over a Moto G and you don't get much extra for that premium.
If the Lumia flagship was here I would get it, unfortunately a free S5 or G3 represents value and performance right now.
