How can I fix the black screen on my Surface Pro 3?

After the June update I experienced a problem and called Microsoft support and ended up using my recovery USB to get back up and running. All the updates to date needed to be done again and I was fine until I turned it off for the night. The next day all I get is a black screen. I do have power as the keyboard back light is on. I have searched on line and tried a few of the button suggestions but nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated.

Has holding the power button for 10 or so seconds and trying to turn it on after do anything?

Search this forum for the "freezer fix for a dead surface pro". I followed the instructions but tried 40 min. Let it sit for 2 min after removing and it worked perfectly with one touch on the power button. That was 5 hours ago and I'm replying with it right now. I believe the details I followed were posted by user 'cheesarah'
