How can I recover lost contacts after hard reset?

Had to do a hard reset after being locked out. Contacts were lost. Don't know if I had it setup to backup automatically. Doesn't seems to be finding them on SD.

If the phone was set to back-up to your MS account the contacts should return.
My contacts and texts magically came back after my last 925 reset.
My phone is on the cyan firmware.

Depends on where the contacts reside... I keep mine with my primary Gmail account and had no problem restoring with an account sync.

Check your account settings; Settings > email + accounts > tap on the name of the account which manages your contacts and make sure it is set up to sync contacts by checking the box... Sync that account.

​Chances are excellent in 2014 that your contacts are somewhere in the cloud waiting for you.
