How do I get texts read over Ford sync bluetooth not Cortana?

how do i get texts read over ford sync bluetooth not cortana?

I have a lumia 640 lte dual sim with wp10, cortana dials the car and asks to read messages, I have turned that off but now the messages don't get read by my ford sync as happened with my previous android phones. Ford websites says 100% compatible, cant remember if worked on 8.1 as didnt have for long.
Anyone know if this should work and what settings I may need to change please?

I have the same phone. When I was running windows 8, sms to ford sync worked great. Text messages would play, and I could reply over bluetooth.
When I upgraded it to the windows insider to get 10 (because ATT is too slow), it no longer works with ford sync. Bluetooth works for audio and phone, but no SMS. Not sure why it quit working. 2010 Ford F150 and Lumia 640 LTE:devil:

Got a single sim 640, don't recall having the sync in my car being able to read messages on 8.1, but it does on Win 10 (or can also use the Cortana function). Got a 2014 Ford.
