How do I know if my 530's are locked?

How can I tell if my 530s are locked, I bought one direct from Virgin Mobile and one from Carphone Warehouse on a Virgin PAYG upgrade deal. Locked or unlocked, how do I know?

If bought from CPW, it will be unlocked. Just try inserting a SIM from O2 or Vodafone and you'll see.

Unfortunately I dont have any other SIMS, any other way to tell?

Could you try a friend's SIM?
