How do I restore app data from my SD card onto my new phone?

I recently had a Nokia Lumia 530 that stopped working. I had all my app data saved on my SD card. My warranty let me get another 530, and I put in my SD card. I downloaded all my old apps, but none of the data is showing up. How do I fix this?

App data isn't stored on the SD card it's stored on OneDrive, only music, videos, podcasts, photos, apps and downloads are stored on the SD card ( or phone)

You can back up contacts and messages to sd card using Microsoft's contacts+messages backup app available in the store or else backup everything to OneDrive which is the easiest option
