Windows Central Question

I created a ringtone that has an abrupt start, but when the phone rings, it slowly fades in. I'd like the ringtone to come in a full volume right from the first nanosecond. Is this an option I can change?

No sorry no setting for that. I guess Microsoft does not want to get sued by people (or relatives) who got a hart attack because the phone soddenly went off full on.

This is an issue I've had a problem with as well. With my "hearing issues," it takes it getting to full volume before I even know the phone is ringing. I get the indicator from my Bluetooth headset nearly 4 seconds before I can hear my "loud" ringtone, so I wear my headset so I can answer calls more promptly.

Only a minor irritation, though, because the last thing I would want is a suddenly loud ring if I were at a restaurant, library, or church.

For me I use music on my SD card as a ringtone and it doesn't fade in. Maybe try that ?

On what device? Certainly not possible on a Lumia 520. Windows 8 and 8.1 requires you to put ringtones in a "ringtone" directory. If you're on Developer Preview, perhaps there was some other setting to get around it, but not on the stock OS.

I did it by downloading an app called ringtone maker. Its free and so easy to use. You can select at which part of the song you want the ringtone to start from and it last up to 40 seconds

I've got ringtone maker and have used it. It still copies the final ringtone to the Ringtones directory on the phone, so the ringtone isn't accessed from the SD card, just copied.

Also, doesn't solve the fade-in issue.
