How many Windows Phone 7.x users are here?

Running HTC Trophy on WP 7.8. I knew about the apps, but still "downgraded" to this phone from iPhone 5.

Not really frustrated, but I am excited to see what the next big thing will look like! :)

Yup. HTC Titan II with a LG Quantum as a back up. 7.x by choice. I don't like any of Nokia's WP8 phones and the 8X's screen is too small for me since I've started using the T2. Until Samsung brings an ATIV (or ATIV Note) variant to AT&T or HTC brings back the Titan style phone, I'll be sticking with 7.x for the foreseeable future.

One thing I don't understand is, why do devs who don't use WP8-specific APIs don't build their apps for 7.x/8. It's so easy in Visual Studio/Team Foundation Server to create your initial app as 7.8 (which also works for 8). Afterwards, if you want to use 8 specific APIs, create a new branch for development, change the target platform to 8, then build and release from there.

I got my Lumia 900 about 2 months before WP8 came out because we needed a windows phone to test on for work.

I don't qualify for an upgrade anytime soon, but I'll be getting the EOS the day it comes out.

I've had a Lumia 710 for 1 year. Yeah, it kinda upsets me that so many apps are arriving only for WP8, specially games like Temple Run and Jetpack Joyride that I wanted so badly to have in my phone. Still, I have most of the fundamental apps and the good thing is that we're already confirmed to getting the new Facebook and YouTube apps. Plus, my Optimus L5 has all the Android games I could need that aren't available on WP7. My contract is up in January so I'll probably get a WP8.

710 here with 7.8

Not to concerned about whats available and whats not. I've moved on from that phase and could frankly care less. I realize I just use the phone for 3 basic things. Communication (text/phone), internet and games. And then even the games I play I don't even care what they are. So in that sense WP is fine for me, im not bowing to the pressures of other OS just because everyone else is using it. I will give WP one more chance with WP8 or blue or whatever comes with the Nokia EOS (contract expires in November). I like WP but if there isn't any signs of improvement (feels like nothing is happening on the WP front in terms of improvements cuz MS works so goddam slow) I may jump ship after the Nokia EOS.
