Traveling from one Region to another your radio incompatibility means you don't connect to the new network.

​Cross flashing a different Region's ROM means the software is telling the radio hardware to tune to a Band it doesn't have and the radio hardware goes WTF and seizes up.

If the RM is the same, so is the hardware, so is the radio. No risk to changing the software that dictates the Country/Carrier.
