How to free media and files space from phone memory ?

While using the storage check app I get these results



Now I am not sure as to what is media and files are in my phone memory , and how am I suppose to free that space . My all pictures , songs and videos are in SD card . Nothing in phone memory when I see the folders after connecting via USB
Any help is most welcome.

What media apps do you have? Keep in mind that a lot of apps will keep songs on phone memory such as Music Hits or Audiotica.

I also have the same prblm... My all music, videos, picx are stored in sd card but it shows in storage checkn that media consumes 1.9gb phone space... What's that,i mean i cant figured it out why it consumes internal memory.. I also have no music app on my ph.... Can any one tell why this is happening...

I too have no idea how to fix it but I guess I know what these files are. Remember the "other" storage issue that was present before Amber and GDR3 update? I guess those files are now categorized under Media and "Files". Only way to get rid of it is a hard reset although there still will be files in media and files but the heap size would surely decrease.

Sometimes I just wish MS would make things easier for us .
