How to hard reset a surface go {forgot password}

I recently received a surface go from a relative who is in the UK. Unfortunately, she no longer recalls the email address together with the password that she was used on the device before sending it to me{she just logged on it and dd not use it after}. Is it possible for me to hard reset the device without acquiring unnecessary expenses? I once tried some videos on U tube but it not bringing any fruitful result. The booting proceeds up to a point and fails, returning an error. Please help 😊.
