15043 looks to use more battery than 15025 but it's ok. I wish I could have just stayed on 15025. However, 15031 & 15043 are not good at all SO DON'T go that far using the Fast Ring. I suggest you use the Slow Ring because Mathew above says Slow Ring only took him to 15014 which was a decent release. I really doubt Slow Ring will ever allow 15031 to install as Slow Ring is supposed to only allow releases that Fast Ring has tested and approved as good releases. I'd think the next Slow Ring update won't be until 15031 issues are reasonably resolved so will skip forward to a decent release once it's found.

I agree. 15043 seems to burn battery faster than the 14xxx series. I noticed when I opened an email from Trulia, and then followed a link for open houses, the battery part of the case got warm. The webpage didn't fully cooperate either. When I tried to go back, the phone didn't like doing anything with the email message either. So, there are some bugs to be worked out.

I've gotten my battery life working decent now; not as good as it was on 15025 but about the same as 14393. I shut off many of the needless background Apps. They work fine when I want to use them without wasting battery while not in use. I just check the App battery usage often and shut off the background Apps for those that don't need to be running. The early 15000's really helped battery life over 14393 but now it went backwards not only on battery life but as you said, some general usage is very buggy and some requiring reboots. I also have random times I can't connect to data without a reboot but that was also a known issue from 14393 fixed with the early 1500's so how Microsoft went so far backwards with 15031, I have no idea. But.... I can now work with 15043 but I highly suggest users stay on the Slow Ring or put your Fast Ring on temporary hold (click "Stop Insider Preview Builds" and follow the directions) until Microsoft gets these many bugs fixed.

For those on Verizon having excess/crazy battery drain caused by BAP, my fix in an early post works. For 3 days now, my BAP has never gone above <1 which is listed under the settings/system/battery/battery usage by App.

sorry, I have been on slow ring and today 15043 rolled out and what I think just happened is that my phone bricked on install reboot. I then did the hard reset (denied BAP of course). and then windows asked me if I wanted to install data from my old nokia from febuary 21st 2017. 1 week ago. This obviously was my HTC one M8. so I hit ok and it then installed everything exactly the way it was only with 15043 and all of the htc apps that were deleted a long time ago are back too. and get this, my registry is back to the htc one m8. I'm still waiting for some things to down load so I'm not sure if interop tools came back. So I'm now on 15043 in slow still. I thought this was great news. I guess my backed up windows just seen it as a new phone.

Sorry for my multiple posts. Pc was not refreshing pages properly. Again I apologize. I wanted to be sure to share this because we all suffer from these frustrations and this one worked in my favor thanks to windows backup.

Wayne, are you still able to leave your phone as an HTC One and get updates? For whatever reason, I have to leave mine as a Lumia...

I'm now on 15047. It states there was nothing new with this update but fixed some additional issues that they listed. I'm now running fine and my battery is decent again. My screen got stuck once on horizontal view but a rebooted fixed it. Otherwise I really am not seeing any issues; any of you find problems with 10547? Now I think I can keep my HTC until the Surface Phone release.

After seeing your post, I looked at I have 15047 waiting as well. RS2_release it says. Downloading now. I also got the 1/2 screen issue a couple times, and had a lockup or two. Now is the time to identify issues before they hit the final version.

[edit] Did anyone else notice that shutdown takes longer on these last couple builds?

I am curious about the Surface Phone. Hope is is a good bit like the M8.

So far so good on 15051. I did a soft reset after the update, as I've noticed the phone needs that to clear the air or something, as some apps don't work right until after I do that. Groove worked fine this am; I played an album while walking. Also used Runmaster Pro without issue. Just started KLOVE streaming--had a brief hiccup or two at the start, and took a few seconds to start playing, but now seems fine (just had another hiccup). Texting works fine. Had some quirks getting the F1 Debrief sidepodcast to start, but seems okay now. Video podcasts seem to work fine.
I would test my earbuds, but I can't find them. Will try with Cortana and UConnect maybe later today.
[edit] forgot to add the WindowsCentral thread on 15051: http://forums.windowscentral.com/wi...d-15051-discussion-redstone-2;-fast-ring.html

15051 is full of bugs for me. Bluetooth text read out loud and respond back continuously drops or Cortona says "I ran into something; please try again later". Plugged in to charge and screen locks requiring a soft reboot. Was following map directions to a location but then the screen locked and couldn't get out of it so required another soft reboot. So far I've had to do about 10 soft reboots in the last 24 hrs. Crazy....... still haven't learnt my lesson...I simply should have stayed on 15043 which was working fine. Once we get Redstone 2......... I'm done using the Fast Ring.

those still on Slow Ring... stay there. 15051 is not any better and even worse than starying 15000 releases. Guys, can you believe they fix one issue on one release then it comes back on a new release. That tells me develop people are not work together on the current release. Some people worm on one release then others on another.

MICROSOFT.... Give me one good release and I will stop getting Insider Builds until Microsoft Surface Phone comes out. I know Microsoft follows this forum.....are you guys listening???

My phone runs way better since my hard reset and now my 15051 insider slow build. My battery is light-years better and everything is just generally smoother. I also noticed that I was not getting the Verizon boot up screen beforehand but I now do. I'm beginning to think that something on Verizon or HTC's side was finally pushed through or allowed to let this phone accept newer insider builds or something. I even have the HTC camera app working fairly well.

Or something in my phone from all the build jumping got my phone pretty botched up.
