Just received my elite x3 today went into the about screen and it shows 3.5 gb of ram instead of 4 can anyone who has a elite x3 confirm if there's shows 4gb of ram???

Windows 10 on mobile only supports up to 3.5GB of RAM. Don't know if/how the remaining 0.5GB is used.

Isn't that because Windows 10 Mobile is only 32bit??

Is it possible that MS can update W10M to 64bit? Or would the phone have to be completely wiped and Windows installed fresh (assuming there is a 64bit W10M anytime soon...)

Possible but I highly doubt a 64-bit option will become available.

Well 64bit will come, its the future for sure, just not sure when.

This makes me wonder if at some point in the future we'll have 3.5 GB (32-bit) and 4 GB (64-bit) Elite X3's running around with people trying to snap up the latter like the hubbub about the iPhone 6s having two different CPU manufacturers.

The SOC is 64bit, so they should be able to do a 64bit upgrade for all devices - if not OTA then at least via WDRT.

Typically, it is not that easy. You also can't upgrade 32-bit Windows to 64-bit, need to wipe PC. No one knows how it would/will work with Mobile.

No, you're right, you can't. But WDRT uses a separate partition for flashing roms and hence could theoretically write a totally new, 64bit rom over the 32bit one.
