HTC 8X battery life?

My 8X battery has been terrible since the first day I got it. When using simple apps like Twitter or Messenger the battery just drops about 1% every 3-4 minutes. If I don't use the phone it will last about 10 hours. Playing games will literally drink the battery. I don't have Skype or Whatsapp. Email accounts sync every 2 hours. Location services are off. Cortana is turned off in the background. No Bluetooth.

I've had the phone for about a week now, I got it from best buy and it was manufacturer refurbished, but looked completely new so I'm guessing it was new.

I've done 3 battery discharge cycles and the battery really sucks. Should I keep doing discharge cycles and see if it gets better? Do you think its like this because it is new?

I had the 8x for 2 years and I did not experience bad battery life. For the most part the phone was good to me except for the constant reset but thats HTC's fault for using a bad sim tray. Which I fixed.
