HTC 8X or Nokia Lumia 920?

I've had the 8x and the 928. The 8x is sleek and sexy. The sound is much, much better than the 928. I am assuming try 920 and 928 are similar. However, Nokia is Windows Phone now and if HTC was pushing WP as much as Nokia, I would say 8X hands down. However, they aren't so I have to go with the Nokia.

As owner of both phones I can say, only 920.
HTC must not release anything for WP as they don't give a sh%% about this platform. Just look what applications did they release for WP and compare it with all Nokia's efforts.
When I bought 920 after 6 months of using 8X, I was angry on myself for not buying 920 at that time when I switched back to WP.
I was scarred about 920 weight, 8X looks 100% better , but the camera is awful, only 16 gb storage, no SD card. Not even gyroscope in phone! And this meant to be flagship phone? Hell, no!

So do not make mistake like I did, buy 920/925 or even 1020. You won't be disappointed

You know, let's be honest here. HTC (with some fault of their own) is cash strapped. I'm not here to apologize for their screw-ups but I think people bash their "lack of support" a tad too much. The 8X was marketed as a premier phone, the best phone for those wanting a balanced experience. Not everyone wants to be an amateur shutterbug. Not everyone wants a heavy phone. Not everyone wants a big screen. HTC isn't in a position to pour as much money into WP as it can in Android because its resources are stretched thin. That's why they wanted MSFT to loosen up some of their restrictions to maximize their hardware and make it more cost effective to use the same hardware for both Android and WP. We praise Nokia for all their innovation, and while rightly so, they HAD NO CHOICE BECAUSE THEY PICKED ONE OS -WP. So how else are they gonna sell phones if they don't offer outstanding after support? Now, my question to folks is this: once MSFT closes the deal with Nokia, does that automatically mean all the Lumia users will get the same support they've grown accustomed to?

So, OP, it still boils down to your needs. The 8X is a good option that will get 8.1. You really cannot go wrong between both.

I owned both and I left the 8x and HTC side of windows phones for the Lumia 920.

The lumia 920 is NOT that big/heavy as people make it out to be, though it is subjective.

I've always recommended the windows phone 8x to people simple because while it does have a better look to it and the beats audio are great(though Nokia's music sound is very good), the fact is I do not trust HTC to support their phones for as long as Nokia will/would.

HTC is in dire straits and they are focusing efforts on their android devices with windows phones in the closet until they decide to take them out and do something with them.

Nokia has been behind Windows Phone every step of the way since coming to the OS and have long earned the reputation of being the best Windows Phone Manufacturer in my opinion.

Plus you get twice as more memory with the 920(925/928) which will be even better vs the 16 GB of the 8x.

ASide from making a pretty device, HTC has done nothing really to support windows phone...you'd think since HTC has been with windows Phone since pretty much it's entire existence they'd have built a more positive image but they honestly won't get my money anytime soon as they have done very little to warrant anyone to buy their phones...hence why no one really is except a small few(both Android and Windows Phone).
