Htc M8 AT&T unlocked on T-mobile, anyone get tethering/hotspot to work?

I have an AT&T M8, using it unlocked on T-mobile. Tethering won't work, it gives an error about AT&T network. Has anyone figured out how to get it to work?

Download Tether-X and follow the instructions on how to set it up on both your phone and your computer. It's the only solution available for using carrier variant devices on other carriers. I'm not aware there is an interop-developer unlock for this device as of this typing. I own the Verizon Wireless variant HTC One M8W which "Internet Sharing" works great IF you're using a Verizon Wireless branded SIM card; if you're not, it's Tether-X. I'm going to assume the same is for AT&T and T-Mobile variants. I use Verizon Wireless variants since they too are GSM carrier unlocked but that's as nice as Verizon Wireless is going to go.
