I want to buy unlocked HTC one m8 for windows. I'm confused about ota update os. I live in India . Can I update windows l0 or more future updates plzz help me!!!

I guess ota updates are based on the region you have set in the settings.Change it to US m8.Not sure how how that works

Btw M8 for windows is not available in our country.How are you planning to get one??

One M8 was only offered carrier branded with Windows Phone, so far as I know.

In that case Updates come from the original carrier, no matter if the SIM tray is unlocked or regardless of where you use it around the world.

Now the good news. One M8 is able to recover with Windows Device Recovery Tool. So if anything goes wrong you can reflash 8.1.

Get the phone and get on 10 Insider. Use the slow ring for stability. Bump up to 10586.29. Un-enroll from Insider and Hard Reset. Now Microsoft will send your OTA updates.

If you go on the Insider to get W10M on your HTC, do a hard reset immediately after flashing. The Verizon model is the most common variant available on eBay or Amazon and it is GSM unlocked. There are guides available to get MMS working since Big Red disables APN settings but it's an easy registry edit. Good luck.
