HTC Titan on TMobile

Awesome, zcarman!

Unfortunately, my chat with T-Mo didn't go so well today. At work I could get 3G/4G but I can only get 2G at home. Not a problem most of the time but I also send/receive a lot of MMS and I know how annoying it is to send MMS on 2G.

I can decide to switch to T-Mobile and save about $30-$35 a month and gain unlimited talk, text and web but I'm also stuck with 2G.

Or I could stay with AT&T and pay a little bit more but get 3G/4G/LTE, unlimited talk, text, 1GB data and tethering (shared data plan).

Not sure which direction I want to go yet.

It's such a good time to OWN your handset... I mean for options you have the following...

On AT&T's Network
Net10 - Unlimited Talk, Text & WEB (note this is not DATA) for $45 a mo w/AutoPay
Straight Talk - Unlimited Talk, Text & WEB - $45 per mo
Red Pocket Mobile - Unlimited Talk, Text & 1GB Data - $55 per mo
AT&T GoPhone - Unlimited Talk, Text & 1GB Data - $75 per mo
H2O Wireless - Unlimited Talk, Text & 2GB Data - $60 per mo

On T-Mobile's Network
Net10 - Unlimited Talk, Text & WEB (note this is not DATA) for $45 a mo w/AutoPay
Straight Talk - Unlimited Talk, Text & WEB - $45 per mo
T-Mobile Monthly - Unlimited Talk, Text & 2G Data - $50
Simple Mobile - Unlimited Talk, Text and 3G or 4G Data - $40 or $60 per mo
Solavei - Unlimited Talk, Text and 4GB 4G data - $49 per mo

It is just amazing how much cash you can save by paying $300-500 for a handset and not signing a contract... Take a look at going to the AT&T $75 GoPhone package... Might be a nice compromise over the higher monthly bill and the slower T-Mo speeds...

I save even more on my service by getting refills online at Prepaid Wireless Refill PINs and Top-Ups

Nice. I like that at least some of you'll Americans are seeing the benefit of not getting stuck in contracts and owning an unlocked handset. :)

I've been using Straight Talk for everything since Febuary...it is definitely more than web only. The TOS says you can use any of the native capabilities of the phone...which are quite a lot.

Fortunately, Windows Phone does have quite a few native features, but Straight Talk doesn't officially support Windows Phone at this point - so we are playing at our own risk.

The cool part about WinPhone is that so much of the 'daily' stuff doesn't require Apps - like Facebook, Twitter and email. As soon as we download an App, like Nokia Drive or Rowi, we are acting outside that "native features" line and can be subject to chunkage...

I have a feeling unless someone pushes the 2GB area regularly, ST could care less about how much we use.

PS - I pulled this from the Straight Talk TOS -

STRAIGHT TALK UNLIMITED TALK, TEXT AND MOBILE WEB ACCESS PLAN INTENDED USE: Straight Talk Unlimited Talk, Text and Mobile Web Access Plans may ONLY be used with a Straight Talk handset for the following purposes: (i) Person to Person Voice Calls (ii) Text and Picture Messaging (iii) Internet browsing through the Straight Talk Mobile Web Service and (iv) Authorized Content Downloads from the Straight Talk Mobile Web Store.

This doesn't say anything about native capabilities anymore and does mention Internet browsing directly... Wonder if they are going to start cracking down?
