I have had the phone since early November and absolutely love it. However, I can't figure out how to resolve this issue.

I have the device setup for both a yahoo and gmail accounts. Sent emails will not save to the device. YES I HAVE CHECKED THE SAVE SENT ITEMS BOX.

This issue is present for both accounts. I can send emails from the phone, and it won't save a copy of the sent email in the yahoo or gmail accounts either when I view them from a computer. Emails are getting succesfully sent, but there is no record of them anywhere I can see.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? Anyone have a fix?

I saw something similar in the Moto Q thread but did not really understand the solution or whether it would apply to the HTC Touch Pro.

As far as I know, if you are using POP email, it (WM) will not save to the Sent folder - or at least not after you sync again. Now, my Gmail does save to Gmail online, but not on the phone. I have Exchange, so my primary Outlook account does this and possibly Gmail with IMAP would work.

Ok. I can find the messages that were sent from the phone using the my computer to look at the webmail accounts. Gmail lists the message in the 'sent' folder. Yahoo lists them in a separate 'sent items' folder, not 'sent.' This is certainly useful, but doesn't answer why these emails are not saved on the HTC Touch Pro when sent from that device...

Isn't there am option to sync diffrent folders in menu, options, tools, manage (I think... going off memory right now). Choose your sent items folder to sync. This is what I had to do to sync sent messages for my exchange account.

eJonny - good one - I never checked this on my POP accounts. I set up my Yahoo account to sync the Sent folder - now it saves to the phone and syncs up to my online account (which did not happen before). I have always done this with my Exchange folders but never thought to see if I could do this on a POP account. Good post - thanks.

I have this as well

I have the same issue and I use the imap4 setup, dont know if that matters for sending, and I use gmail and live email. I had this same issue with my HTC TyTN II, and I have flashed my ROM to NATF Fuze 2.3, still nothing. I wonder what would happen if you unchecked sync email in active sync.

Has anyone ever had there sent items actually save? I have only used WM6.1.

Sent messages not saved

In which application are you changing these settings. I don't find any such options in ActiveSync or Outlook.

Thanks.

The Answer

The Answer: eJohnny is right . From the Inbox selct MENU-TOOLS-MANGE FOLDERS and check sent items and Sync issus if you wish. Now I have all my Sent mail. Why this isn't default I do not know.

I use Microsoft Exchange. Not sure if it works for GMAIL.

Yes, I have a similar problem on my HTC Touch Pro with gmail via IMAP.
The HTC folder Sent Items is always empty. When I send an email from my device, the message first goed to the Outbox, then to the Sent Items box and then dissapears. On webmail the sent item is stored in the Label "Sent Items".

I have noticed Gmail saves the sent message twice on the webmail:
- in the label Sent Items, which is supposed to be a synch from my mobile device
- in its own Sent Mail folder. If I synch this to my mobile device, it gets uploaded to my phone again, in the Gmail folder, with subfolder Sent Mail. However, it is stored as a received message, i.e. not sorted by Sent To, but by From (which is of course always me).

This seems very inefficient:
1. I send a message from my phone
2. the message first goes to the Sent Items folder on my phone and stays there for 1 second.
3. the message goes to the Sent Items Label on the web AND to the Sent Mail folder on the web.
4. when I synch again, the message re-appears in the Sent Mail subfolder in the Gmail folder on my phone, but is sorted by sender and not - as you would expect from a sent folder - by receiver.

is there anyone else who has this problem on their HTC Touch Pro and knows how to solve it?

cheers,
