What's it worth: Lumia 822 with charging cover, charging plate and otterbox? I'm thinking $400-450. What say the masters of WP?

Don't tell me you're leaving Windows Phone? :crying:

But to answer your question, $450 sounds like a good price.

I think you should give it to me for free...

$450 is a good asking price. If your to high they will let you know.

Dash: I don't know if I'm leaving WP or not. I am frustrated with the bugs. My HTC trophy wasn't really a good experience. Every update fixed one thing and broke another. Now this WP8 I've been wanting for so long has more issues than my trophy.

Dave: that WOULD be a generous thing wouldn't it?:) Don't hold your breath though, lol. If it goes I'll need some phone money for a replacement.

Thanks for the price info. If an update doesn't come soon I might jump ship.

What sort of problems are you having with the 822?

The big issue is lose of cell and data signal. I've had the phone replaced and this one does the same thing. Occasionally it freezes up. Mainly tiny issues but over time they add up. I like to think an update will fix these things, but I'm not certain it will.

Try to get it changed for an 8X, mine has been solid. Portico also will fix the issues that you're having and besides I can't imagine a non-WP user being a mod here.

I don't know if I could exchange it. I bought the phone November 15. I might go by my Verizon store and see if they can do something for me. I'll have to say I'm reluctant to get a phone with just 16GB of storage.

Here's another question. Is it unethical to sell a phone that has issues? I think it is, so I'm not sure what I'll do if Verizon won't swap this one for a different brand. My phone locked up earlier today so I'm at my wits end with this one.

I believe it's ok to sell a phone with issues, providing the seller discloses those issues. For instance, if the device is listed as "for parts only" that is ok. Of course, the fact that it's damaged goods needs to be reflected in the selling price.

I'm hoping Verizon will allow me to get a different phone, that would be the preferred route for me. Freezing up is pretty rare for my phone, but it does happen. I really haven't noticed any issues with the loss of signal, but I guess I've been lucky enough to not be making or receiving calls at that time. If I do put it up for sale I'll be honest about my issues with anyone that wants to buy it.

Mention that the original manufacture's warranty is still intact. That will also help to ease any fears for potential buyers.

Just wanted to let you guys know I'm feeling more positive about my phone today. I still think WP8 is buggier than it should be, especially for an OS with such a small market share, but as of now I'm going to stick it out.

I am glad you decided to keep your device. I want everyone to know. It doesn't mater what device you have that doesn't play a part in being a moderator here. There are times when I don't use WP as my daily driver. Its okay, I would prefer that you have a WP around so you can participate in threads and test things out. It makes answering questions in the forums easier. As long as you can keep up with your duties in the forums it doesn't mater what device you carry. Besides its nice to know what the competition is up to testing out other OS's is actually a benefit to this community. I do it so I can offer honest opinions. How can we make comparisons if we don't have any idea what the competition offers.

I am still going to go by Verizon and talk to them about my device. I'm not as upset as I was the other day, but I think I'm having more problems with a new device than I should. Since I'm way past the 14 or 15 day return period I suspect all they will do is offer to replace this device with another under warranty.

Do you have LTE where you live and work?

Does your family/neighbors/co-workers have LTE devices?

I'm wondering if the issues have to do with coverage: in other words, are the dropped calls related to spotty coverage or handoff from LTE to 1X-EVDO not working smoothly?

I've never had issues with my current device (Nokia Lumia 900), but I have LTE in Cleveland/suburbs and in Akron. I had no issues for the first two months I had the device on HSPA+ before AT&T turned on its LTE network.

I do remember having SOS in Medina, OH several years ago when I had AT&T and a Blackberry device. It was a carrier issue, not a device issue. I also remember my signal not coming back until I did a soft reset once I was back in a coverage area. I've since been to Medina and had no issues with loss of signal on AT&T.

So my other suggestion is to check with your family/neighbors/coworkers and see how their VZW coverage is and if they have similar behavior with LTE devices.

I'm not dropping any calls. I notice from time to time I have no cell signal or data signal, then a few seconds to a minute later I get signal and 3G back. I suspect I've missed some calls due to this, but I have no way of proving it. I have LTE in my house sometimes, but not often. The smartphones my wife and I have had in this house are Motorola Droid, iPhone 4, HTC Trophy, HTC Rezound and this Lumia 822. A couple of those phones have had less than stellar reception, but none of them have temporarily lost all signal. This is really a bigger issue than the phone locking up since the lock-ups are relatively infrequent.
