I have a Nokia Lumia 925. Why can I only hear when the speaker is on?

I have a Nokia Lumina 925. I can only hear when the speaker is on

I can only hear a caller when my speaker is on. When I change the volume it reads the volume, i.e., 5/10 but next to it says "in-call". I tried turning the phone off then back on. Did not work. Any ideas?

maybe earpiece speaker of your phone is damaged
