I have forgotten my nokia lumia 520 password. Is there any way to unlock without hard setting?

I have locked my mobile before my sleep with a new password, unfortunately after some days i forgotten it. I thought it can be unlocked after sometime.. i have leaved it.... i forgotten about this mobile and the mobile got switched off because of battery low, after some days i removed the battery becz my sd card was stacked on it . Now the time and date have been reset-ed. Now i have xxxxxxx time remaining.I dont want to hard reset my mob becz i have many photos in my mob memory and contacts tooo... Now i dont know what to do????

I am not sure there is much you can do in this case. What kind of password was it? Was it alphanumeric or a Windows PIN code? Did you not backup your phone in the past? If so, a reset and restore to backup and just cutting your losses may be the only solution.
