Title says it all .. I had the local MS store downgrade mine this week. I'm actually really preferring it over Windows 10 - maybe i'll come back to 10 at some point in the future.

Anyone else found this to be the case for touch-screen devices ?

Same here, bought an i3 when they started going for $599, Windows 10 lasted long enough to fail to update to the latest version then got wiped for Windows 8. Been flawless since and much nicer to use as a tablet.

Ditto!

I keep trying W10 (stable, slow, fast, etc.) on my SP3 (i7) but always go back to W8.1, eventually. W8.1 so far can't be beat in table mode (IMHO), which is the mode that use the most.

I have my previous laptop (ThinkPad) that I've put W10 on, and it's fine, because it's in "desktop" mode all the time.

I use the regular ring because I use this to get stuff done, I really feel that windows 10 is a 'desktop' OS. They inexplicably removed all things that made using it in straight up tablet mode easy in windows 8.1

I agree that when just working in 'desktop' mode with the keyboard attached, windows 10 is great. But the second you pull off that smart cover, then it really goes downhill.

thanks.
every so often I check in here to see if I should upgrade my SP3 to 10.
still sounds like a No.
MS keep bombarding me with the free upgrade to 10 offer

I'm keeping mine on Windows 10 as it's here, now, is the future and works perfectly fine.

P.s. make sure that you enable the feature that automatically launches the keyboard when within a text entry box. That makes Win 10 a LOT easier to live with.
