I've installed 14393.5 via Fast ring from Windows Insider app on my 830 (was on Release Preview). I've just finished a hard reset (no restore). I haven't installed the Windows Insider app. Is my phone technically still on the Fast Ring? If it is I don't want that and what do I need to do to get removed from the Fast Ring IF I'm technically still enrolled?
:orly:

In SETTINGS >> Update & Security >> Windows Insider Program you'll find what you seek.
You can opt in, suspend & EXIT the Insider program.

There is NOTHING currently beyond 14393.5 - that's the Anniversary (Redstone 1) Update (w possible subsequent hotfixes).
Redstone 2 hasn't dropped yet.

hard reset drops device enrollments in Insider, you'll be on production release schedule unless you change it.

i would recommend to switch to release preview instead, you know how finicky that insider thing is, switching between rings has a faster reaction time than enrolling again in my experience(instant instead of 24h) in case you ever want to go back to fast or slow

From what I'm reading ... in August Redstone 2 previews will start releasing to Insider. I want my 830 to stay as is on RS 1. So far it's doing quite well.

Although it doesn't really do anything now, you can get 100% clarification by installing and launching the Insider app. Tap the ... and about. It will give you a definite answer as to which ring, if any, your device is enrolled in.

Sometime after Anniversary Update, that's Y I just exited the Insider Program - the early builds can be a tad ruff.

As I said before, IF a major feature comes out of Redstone 2, or when the build stabilizes - I'm back IN.
My backup device is NOT eligible for these builds, thus anything would be on my Lumia 1520 - my Daily Driver.

Yeah, you probably don't want to be on the Fast (or Slow) ring much after 8/2, if you're actually "using" your phone, i.e., it's more than a test machine ;-]

Rumor has it that RS2 builds are already being done, just not released yet, which means these could be push/switch-flipped at any time, per that big disclaimer about "you can hurt yourself " with these, in Insider...

Good call someone on going to RP for desktop, I've got almost all the machines in the house moved before 8/2, and they're pulling bits from each other (the local-only pull setting is nifty), which is handy...

The post I read said that the redstone 2 builds will be releasing 2 weeks after anniversary update- can anyone confirm on that?

I've seen the same, mid-August is the big rumor. I'd hate to have my phone on Slow Ring though, and all of a sudden get 14894, or whatever the first RS2 build will be, at least on my daily-driver.
