Why? Just about any color works with blue. Teal might be the only one that does not work with it.

Cyan is not blue. I have tried all the thene colors and Nokia blue is only one looks right to me. Cyan is a special color by itself and it looks great. Matching that with other colors is something else. Grey is a natural neutral color which can easily match any color. It is a safe color.

I was going to go for the grey but your comment reminded me that a black shell would blend right into the screen and look seamless. They grey, while it looks good and is different from the norm doesnt blend as well, for me. So I guess its boring black for me!

Is the black a matte finish as well?

White is the only non-boring of those three. Plus you have the contrast factor: black screen, gunmetal buttons and trim on a glossy, snow white device will really "pop"!
