In Canada. Get used 920 or wait for a new Windows Phone 8.1 device?

I currently with Bell Canada who is probably the worst supporter of WP. I got the 8x when it first came out and have loved it, but am wanting more a year and half later. I'm not counting on Bell jumping on the WP bandwagon any time soon, so I'm considering getting an unlocked 920 maybe even 1020. Thoughts?

The 930 is coming soon but will take time to reach Canada I think. Also Nokia as always has left out the microSD so you might want to look into that before buying

I don't know too much about this kind of stuff, and I'm probably wrong, but couldn't you buy an off-contract WP 8.1 device (when available) through someplace online like the Microsoft Store, then put the SIM card into the 8.1 device and get service that way?

I just got my 920 last week to replace my 2 year old 900. I'm very happy with it. I'm also on Bell with an unlimited data plan from 2009 and I'm not giving that up soon. I was able to find a new 920 on eBay for 229. I flashed it to remove the ATT ROM, now it's de-branded and can use internet sharing. Coming from WP 7.8 to 8.0 black, I must say I'm very impressed but I think the coolest thing is that my 920 looks almost the same as my 900 size, weight and tile setup. You really couldn't tell I have a new phone. Sorry for the rant...

I'm in Canada and refuse to be under the mercy of those greedy carriers, so I went with ordering my favorite Windows Phone (Lumia 1520) online from Omegacell (a Canadian store in Alberta).

It really depends on how cheap you can get a 920. It's still a capable device with good looks.

At this stage I would personally wait since the next gen WP devices seem to be on the horizon.
