Increased battery drain after installing Weather Flow and USA Today?

So these potential issues may be a coincidence or there is a bug with the OS and not the app. An apps background task has to run under strict rules or else it should be terminated. The task can only run so long, consume soo much memory, and access limited libraries. If the task can't conform to the rules, it gets terminated. Tasks can only run every 30 minutes at most.

The odds of an actual app causing the problem would be slim. I'm not saying there couldn't be an issue with something running more often than it should, but it shouldn't be the apps fault. The OS was designed a certain way to control resources to consume battery. Unless debug code has been allowed to get through to the marketplace. As a developer we can set background tasks to run more often (every minute) to aid with testing.

Weather Flow has definitely knocked me down a worrying amount in battery life since installing 3 days ago :(
