Internet explorer 11 reader on 8.1.

In summary, doesn't work on my international 8x. Just a blank white screen when you press the book icon.
Any attempt to bring up advanced settings will throw me back to the original webpage.
Any idea how to fix it?

Mine is working just fine. The settings for Reading view are under ie's settings -> advance settings, though there isn't anything there that should make it not work.

Hard reset seems to fix a lot of problems that individual people are having. Kind of a pain, but worth it.

Unfortunately, hard reset didn't help with my 8X. Reader mode still not working, "Advanced settings" menu doesn't open.

Reading Mode also works on my 8.1 8X. I agree with the suggestion to factory reset; I did that and only have one minor glitch with the HTC app live tile.

When I reported the app glitch to HTC and told the tech I already did a factory reset he told me to try a different procedure:

1. Turn the power off.
2. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, until you see an exclamation mark. If it doesn't appear push the POWER button briefly while pressing VOLUME DOWN.
3. Then press the following hardware buttons in sequence:
VOLUME UP > VOLUME DOWN >POWER > VOLUME DOWN.

I didn't, since I uninstalled the app instead.

Same for me on my international 8X, but I think this has nothing to do with Microsoft's update ...

Same here. I think its got to do with the Region and Language setting.

advanced settings doesn't work on my HTC 8S. My region is set to Australia, and English. I've also done a factory reset with the same issues. This was all after the 8.1 update (which I love, other than that)
