IpOverUsbInstaller.msi not installing

Hi Guys,

Lumia 950 is great but apps are crap i just want to try and install some android apps on my Lumia but in order to do this i need to install "IpOverUsbSvc". Which is giving me the error message : "Service 'Windows Phone IP over USB Transport(IpOverUsbSvc)' failed to start. Verify that you have suficient privileges to start system services."

Please help me out guys...

The Android subsystem is gone now

Yup, I had started to do the sae for my icon just before I got the 950 but was shut down. You also have to switch your phone to Developer Mode if you're gonna start or in the future.

I have windows 7 ultimate. Im upgrading to windows 10. I think that should sort the problem out. After I managed to resolved the ipoverusbsvc issue, I thereafter got a .dll file missing error on both my desktop pc and a asus T100( running windows 8.1). So windows 10 here I come

Microsoft ripped out the support for Android, you can't get it working.

That project Astoria had listed phones which it supported. Moreover its officially stopped now. So good luck with your phone.

Not only has Astoria been pulled from the os, it's totally dead. Whatever you try will not work.
