Is anybody's Lumia 920 not suffering from either a hardware or software issue?

I bought a red 920 the day it came out in the U.S. and have one spec of dust under FFC lense. The area above the camera on the back gets warm depending how much I use it and which apps, but so did my iPhone 4. Battery life seems about the same, maybe better than the iPhone, except standby.time seems better on the Nokia. No issues, no need to return. Wish the camera focused better on the first try. Fit and finish: the gap on the bottom of the screen is noticeably bigger than the other sides, which dont have a gap. I wouldn't return the phone over this alone and only $99 anyways (cheaper than the iPhones I've purchasediver the years.

I remember when the Nokia N8 was first released and the number of complaints of the N8 dying and not switching back on again. It turned out to be a manufacturing defect and was quickly put right. I also remember the iPhone antenna fault where the advise given out by Apple was "you're holding it wrong"! They then issued a rubber bumper as a fix. The point is, with all new products there may be defective units regardless of manufacturer but these are usually in the minority. We tend to think the problems are widespread because internet forums are full of complaints rather than compliments.

When someone receives one bad phone, it can be called normal manufacturing issues. I can accept that. When someone receives three and four bad phones, their is a design and or manufacturing defect. The odds aren't that good. Bad batch? Maybe, but that just tells me QC at Nokia sucks. Out of five smartphones I've owned, this is my first to return and first to have this many issues with. I can handle OS issues, its part of today and technology and everybody playing catchup. I can't however make excuses for bad hardware. There is no excuse. Its subpar parts, bad design, or manufacturing problems. All of which are completely in Nokia's hands. They made the decision to design and build a problem child.

My 920 is issue free as well. I got a black one about 12 days ago from my local AT&T store. No dust issues or gaps, no overheating, amazing battery life (20 hours of heavy use, 1 day 12 hours of moderate use and 3 days+ of light use), no blurry pictures and no overheating. I always charge my Lumia with the wireless chargers that I have at home, the only exception is when I'm driving since I haven't seen qi inductive chargers accessories yet for cars, other than that this phone is amazing and performs better than my friends iPhone 5s

Hey, don't knock my porn sites. But really, I am no fan boy of any OS or phone manufacture. Only one I will never use again is icrap. I support the one that works for me. As far as OS, WP8 is my first go around with MS and first Nokia since '99 or so. Wp8 OS works very well for me. The 920 doesn't. To many problems to list with phone. I'm sticking with WP8, but I'm done with Nokia as soon as another flagship phone comes along. I also have Surface and have had absolutely no problems with it. I'm not a big fan of Samsung, but I went on my previous experience with Nokia and it got me a headache of a phone so I will give Sammy a try or preferably Surface phone. Nokia will get it right, but they missed the mark with 920. If this was a budget phone, I wouldn't be complaining. But I paid good money for a flagship phone and I got a budget phone with budget problems.

The 920 personally has been a huge disappointment quality wise. I have had multiple BBs, iPhones and one Moto Razr Maxx as far as smartphones. Never returned one with any defects. Never had any issues with software either. I know WP8 is new software and it's MS so I expect bugs, but not like this. From my experience with 920, it doesn't appear to be OS. It seems to be more hardware and Phone side software issues. Nokia had better step it up next time or get out of the smartphone business. And if this is the QC that can be expected, they are already done. I'm no fan boy for any OS or product. I'm just looking for one that works.

for every person that is having issues with their lumia 920, there are probably 5 that arent (just a guess). when i first got my samsung galaxy s3, i had rebooting issues just from making a simple text message. i took that phone back and got a new one. then my 2nd gs3 battery just died on me inside of a week. i couldnt take it off the charger for more than 2 hours or it would die. so i took that back again and got another one. the one i have now is fine except for the battery still not being able to last me throughout the day. there are also other things wrong with it that i'm not experiencing but others are (Some Samsung Galaxy S3 Handsets Are Reportedly Bricking Themselves For No Reason | Redmond Pie). so my point is, while it sucks that you havent had the best of luck with your lumia 920, this isnt just a nokia issue. they happen to other manufacturers also. and the amount of people having the issue's are always lower than the people that arent having an issue, alot lower.

My first yellow Lumia 920 and my first Nokia for 15 years. (purchased 26. november 2012)
Haven't had any issues except battery the first week, drained fast, but is now ok.

Got a black Lumia 920 from AT&T. Its rock solid. No issues. The fit and finish are top notch and I can't out the phone down. I also own a Droid DNA and its lighter and more sleek in design but it just doesn't compare to the solid industrial feel of the Lumia.

I've had my phone since launch day, and it's never rebooted itself. Or it hasn't to my knowledge. I think I've had to do a soft reset one time. The battery on my phone died, and the phone would not power back up, or boot up, even when it was plugged it. When I would try to turn it on I would just get a big battery icon on the screen. I held down on the volume and the lock button and that resolved the issue.

Aside from battery life in LTE areas, that's really been my only issue. I'm new to smartphones, so I may not be doing as much with my phone as most people.

I had a problem with my white 920 not connecting to any of my computers. At Nokia's advice I exchanged it but the connection problem turned out to be a software issue, not a hardware issue and has been resolved.

Yesterday I traveled to Manhattan and planned to use my 920 to navigate the city. I pulled my phone out of my carrying case and it immediately locked up and then wouldn't turn on. I was quite put out. The same thing happened a couple of weeks ago when I went to Washington, DC so I was wondering if there was some weird issue with being out of area. In Manhattan I fortunately happened upon an AT&T service center. The technician was very pleasant, she performed a hard reset, a diagnostic and quickly fixed it. Turns out my messenger bag, which I only use when I travel, was pressing against the buttons and locking up the phone. So it was my clumsiness which caused the problem.

I have not had any heat or construction quality issues with my 920. As far as battery life, when I was in Washington I used the phone heavily the entire day: taking pictures, navigating, listening to music, web searches, texting, phone calls, etc. It was a long day and the phone gave me a battery warning notice just as I was about to go to bed and put it on the charger. I don't know how other phones perform but the 920 lasted long enough to get the job done, but just barely.

I had four 920's. Hardware defects exist in 100% of them, varying by device. I found a solution to 920 problems, it involves Ebay and buying an HTC 8x...

A month later and my limelight beauty is perfect. No squeaks, no rattles, no loose internals, no loose screen, no dusty camera, no charging problems, no broken buttons, no light leaks, the body isn't even a little loose. Who would have thought? A phone that, you know, comes perfect out of the box as promised? DAMN HTC, how the ***** did you manage to do that? Judging by my experience with Nokia, such a feat is literally impossible.

The grass is much, much greener on the other side :wink:

My four faulty units were all brutal, two of mine had this issue pictured. You would get the frozen snow screen after completing a call and it required a hard reset to get the phone back in working order. My experience was terrible. That's a picture for you...yes, it happened.

Nokia Lumia 920 best phone in the world no phone maker is perfect but I went with the Lumia 920 because it has the best spec's vs the HTC but its a good phone too in all wp8 will be coming out with new phones and better. go windows!!!!!!!!!!

Not to rub salt into the wound, but my 920 hasn't had any issues, either. The only oddity I discovered is that, if I'm rotating MANY pictures (as in over 100) in the photo editor, it will get "stuck" and need to have the photos app restarted. I expect that's more of an issue with WP8 than the phone itself.

For the record, I have a black 920 that I bought in mid-December 2012 direct from AT&T.

No hardware problems at all on my first month release Lumia 920.
Mostly just craving for more software support, though i could not imagine how it would feel over at HTC phone with at least no more software support than on Lumias.
