Is it just me or am I supposed to have purple photos?

I have had this weird problem where I take a photo in sunlight and I'd get a bit of a purple glare or for example I took a pic of my mom in a grey shirt and it came out purple!!! Anyone else have this problem?

possibly lens flair created with the bright light hitting the lens just right.... otherwise I'd think it was a white balance issue.

Next time you see it... cup your free hand along the sides of the phone as a make shift lens hood. That should keep the flair down..

Alright I just tried cupping my hand the shirt still turns purple in warm/yellow lighting. Is there anyway of fixing this or is it just an issue with the phones software. Thank you for the quick response :)

Heading out the door to Grandma's house... post a sample picture and I might be able to see what's going on. If it's more of a color cast over the entire photo, it could be a white balance issue.

I'll try to check back in a little while from the WPCentral App.

Check the photo settings - is White Balance not Auto?

but from what I heard the portico update addresses sharpness issues, and if this truly is a color balance issue then portico definitely isn't going to help..

RE POST: Sorry for broken attachments

the first photo is the normal color of the shirt taken in flourescent light the second and third are in yellow/warm lighting.

Is your white balance set to auto in all 3 pictures? When you change the white balance make sure you tap the Save button.

ive changed the white balance setting to different ones and saved yet it kept making the gray shirt purple. thats why im trying to understand if its just the normal white balance issue in the nokia till the next update after portico?

Your white balance should be either Auto or match the lighting used in the scene. If the white balance is not set properly your colors will be off.Unless defective, the Lumia 920 before Portico, with the white balance set to Auto will adjust itself in most lighting conditions.

yeah...even on auto it still doesnt fix the color change it keeps the shirt purple. so what do you think is it a defect with my phone or is it an issue with lumia white balance. Ive heard there were some problems with the white balance but I dont know if it includes my current problem.

It's the white balance. Use Creative Studio to adjust or choose one of the indoor settings.

thank you for the reply george I have also used the creative studio and indoor settings to no avail of getting the shirt back to gray. hope nokia works on this in the next update.

So wait a minute... All three of those pictures were taken by your Lumia 920, right? With the first picture taken with the fluorescent white balance setting, or auto? Because the first one looks correct, the second looks like you have Daylight or Cloudy turned on, and the third being auto possibly (it gets indoor auto wrong on occasion).
