Because that's where I always keep my phone. TBH I forgot it was in my pocket, but I've had a Blackberry for 2yrs, then a Samsung Focus for 2 yrs, then a 920 for 2yrs, all lived in my front pocket, (left side, no other items in there), never had a breakage of any of them. It's a phone, not a baby, I don't want a device that is in frequent everyday use that requires kid gloves treatment. I would not have picked that particular device myself - it is what the insurance plan company sent me. I should probably have sent it back, but I didn't, and I broke it due to it sliding 4 inches to it's doom. Purely my opinion, but I think manufacturers ought to make their product a little bit more robust than that, especially considering that this particular phone is VERY hard to repair, (due to the glass being glued to the LCD). As a result I have a $600+ item that is slippery as hell, very easily broken, and very expensive to repair. Not a good combination for an everyday use mobile product. And laying under a car is hardly a harsh environment - it's not like I was mountain biking. Plus the 920 had proven to be extremely durable in the several times it fell from tables, got knocked out of my hand by my dog, etc. Please forgive me for being blunt but why is it that you decide the first time out with your new 6 inch phone that costs as much as house rent to go sit under your car, as I said forgive for being and judgmental but the handling of such devices on your part requires a little more fore thought, maybe its just me. I have a 1320 if does go into my pocket trousers its because I'm at work and decided to get comfortable by taking off my jacket in office. Handy work around the house phone is on a table in arms reach in protective case. Again I apologize for being a nit picker but in my eyes I don't really any warrant your rant in the second post.
