Yeah... Looking at the AD they are very unclear, but several of the reviews showing state LTE issues.

Hopefully you can return it. The B&H link I posted earlier. They ship to CA.

Generally the international versions don't have the bands for the US.

looks like the 985 variant has all the LTE band...which seems to be the one to go...

Update:

Received my RM-985....I can tell that there is not much difference in speed with the RM-984.
The only difference I see is, that it says LTE on the phone....That is it...

Well I should have said when I did the testing it was using my home wi-fi, if that make a difference
