Is there any way to get data from a regular SD card on to your phone?

When I'm traveling (fun trips), I don't really want to have to take my surface all the time. Sometimes I'm in remote places where your luggage weight is severely restricted.

My camera uses SD cards - the regular ones. I'd like to upload some while traveling, but need the surface or another nearly $1000 product. The surface is the smallest thing I know of that has a usb port.

So, could I possibly get the files from the SD card right to the phone? I have purchased a male-micro-usb-to-female-usb and plugged a card reader into that, but don't see any way of accessing the card.

Am I dreaming?

Buy a micro-sd adapter... you can use a micro-sd card as a regular sd card with it.

Would an Micro SD card with an adapter work in your camera?
Than later you just insert the Micro SD card in your phone, and upload the photos...

I guess the read/write speeds / quality are just about the same now, huh? That was my concern.
