I just spoke to my local Corporate Store rep.

November 12th:
Nokia 822
HTC Accord

November 21st:
HTC 8X

Nope, it is another HTC phone. If I remember right, HTC showed the HTC 8x and "8S" at one point, this Accord is the 8S from all the specs I have found.

Sooooo......

Nokia or 8X? Nokia has expandable memory and some dedicated Nokia apps, but 8X has the better screen..........

The Accord was the name for the 8X, at least that was the rumor. I hadn't heard anything about them having the 8S at launch. They were supposed to get it, but later.

I am unsure. I have only been watching the 8X, but everything I have found on the Accord shows it to be the "lesser" HTC model. It appears to only have a rear camera, and no front keeping with the 8s specs.

Grey Nokia 822

I'm leaning 822 as an interm phone until the Odyssey is released. I need more than 16GB of space for music alone. I don't always like relying on the cloud to access my music when going to the gym, running, etc.

Accord was not mentioned at all for Verizon in the official WP8 release. Why wouldn't they mention it? Perhaps that deal was not finalized by the powers that be I guess. If it is the 8S I hope VZW gets Domino as my kids freaked out when they saw that one. They loved the looks of it and thought it was the coolest phone they had ever seen.

I just called my guy back to verify and here is the scoop:
The "accord" has the lower processor, and no front camera
The 8X is released on the 21st

I was really hoping it would be a lot sooner than the 21st for the 8X. Phonearena is showing both the 8th ans 20th for the 8X.

The 21st? Wow does Verizon suck. I guess they weren't kidding with their "by Thanksgiving" vaguery. I wish they weren't my only choice for usable coverage where I live.

Pricing looks like:
8X $199 Contract, $599 Off Contract
822 $149 Contract ($50 mir) $549.99 Off Contract.

822 $149 Contract ($50 mir) $549.99 Off Contract.

Best Buy has it up currently for $99, no mention of mail-in-rebate. I wonder if the rebate will work with $99 making it $49? Or maybe it'll be only for purchases through Verizon.

I will say I think these prices really suck especially compared to the killer pricing AT&T is offering for the 820 ($49) and the 920($99). I believe Verizon really enjoys fleecing their customers. (I know they are in business to make money but geez. Maybe they should hand out jars of vasoline with each purchase).

Is there $100 worth of more features and performance from the 820 to 822? I think not.
