I decided I couldn't wait for T-Mobile any longer and have embarked on the slow ring insider installation. Will be using my phone SIM less initially as my Android phone uses a nano sim, so will need an adapter to even swap it.

I get confused with the different release rings. I thought slow ring was the stable one, oh well never mind. I guess I can just fall back to release and wait for it to catch up?If you plan on driving the phone daily you may want to start with Release Ring... It will bring you current with Threshold 2 builds without venturing into Redstone until they get a at or near RTM.

I think what i'll do is either pop in my wife or son's micro sim just to test it makes calls then play with the OS for a bit (ie play with new home screen etc) and then if I am happy with it i'll pop in my own sim.P.S.: When it comes to a SIM adapter, be sure to get one with a sticky sheet for a cover. The ones that are just rings to pop the SIM into are prone to jams.
I really like this one: Amazon.com: MediaDevil Simdevil 3-in-1 SIM Card Adapter Kit (Nano / Micro / Standard): Cell Phones & Accessories
I'm at the point where I can't relinquish my Android phone at the moment since it 'just works' for what I need hence will keep the SIM in it at least for forseable future. I have a genuine interest in following developments with Windows 10 Mobile so the fact that I am not using this as my main phone convinced me there really is nothing to be concerned about with going insider ie if something goes wrong then no big deal at this point.Omg you did it! Yes, please save yourself and do the Release Preview ring. The Slow Ring almost broke my phone. Let us know your thoughts. Some of the apps made for Windows 10 Mobile are pretty nice. You'll have epic battery life because of no SIM, but when I used it as a DD, I had a day and some, which was just like 8.1 for me.

Still trying to figure out why Misfit won't detect my device but then again seeing the reviews in the app store makes me think it may still have some issues.
I'll keep my wife's phone on 8.1 until official release from T-Mobile (if that ever happens) so I can use it to compare images from the camera app to make sure they're as good as before. I'm not going to be going over them with a Loupe so a long as they look similar I'll be ok with it.

You know that's a good idea. I'll see what I can do :smile:I'd love to see some side by side examples posted of the same pic on 8.1 vs W10M...
Here are a couple of quick pics I took using my Windows 10 Mobile upgraded phone and my Wife's stock 8.1. Of course, the Lumia Camera app is no longer available on Windows 10 Mobile. I used the Lumia Camera app on 8.1

The idea was just to show that the camera in Windows 10 is not noticeably different than the Lumia app in Windows 8.1. Any differences can also be due to slightly different lighting etc. due to the fact the camera may not be in the exact same position. I tried to make sure the framing was as similar possible.
I'll get a better idea when I use it to take more general photos while out and about.
The size difference in your case though seems a bit large, almost 2 to 1 if that is comparing the same scene taken in 8.1 and 10. This is assuming of course that the amount of compression used is the same. Still, with that large a difference I would expect a noticeable difference in image quality in comparison. I didn't see any options for image quality ie high, low etc. that you sometimes see in camera apps. I just made sure the Aspect ratio was the same setting when using the two phones.I'll test again today, haven't tried the MS camera app in a while, except for videos. The video aspect is better since I have more control vs lumia camera app
