Digging through latest phone build (10149) and there is an option within notifications to keep private on lock screen

When you go to settings > system > notifications & actions > and click on one of the apps, it gives you options to keep them private or not (perhaps this was available in previous build, I'm not sure now).
I don't think it's working completely yet as I sent myself a test SMS and I could still see what was written in the SMS, but this is a good sign that you might be able to make things more private!
