Hey all

Are there any different keyboards available, other than the one that comes with the 1520?

Frankly, I find the default keyboard to be too big to use comfortably in landscape mode and the positioning of the comma and full stop in portrait mode is a pain as I seem to hit them every time I go for the space bar, which is actually ridiculously small compared to the other screen keys.

It's a minor disappointment that MS/Nokia didn't use the additional screen space on the 1520 to develop a better laid out, more intuitive keyboard.

As a minimum it would be nice if the keyboard could "split" in landscape mode, as it does on an Apple Ipad. Trying to type-on-the-go in landscape mode is tricky at best and has resulted in me fumbling and nearly dropping the phone.

So, are there alternatives out there that anyone knows of?

Thanks

No other keyboards can be added at this time. Whether this changes in the future or not is unknown.

This is one of the biggest gripes that I have with the WP platform when compared to Android. However, we still have quite a few years to watch this OS flourish into whatever it's going to become. Besides, the WP keyboard is pretty fantastic for what it is on a device of this size.

Please see the thread I've just posted, I was having the same keyboard issues.

there is a way to slightly change the keyboard, by removing the additional language key

As much as I hate all Android phones, I gotta say I really LOVE Swype. I read somewhere that we will never see Swype on a Windows phone or Tablet. Too bad. I can text/type very fast with Swype.
