[L640] It's finally here!

It's very difficult to not get discouraged with the way either T-Mobile or Microsoft or both are handling T-Mo's 640. I might just end up sticking with my 925 as my daily driver for longer, even though it's got limited storage...

Parked my 925 in it's original box last night since I hadn't turned it on in over 3 weeks.
Tough to beat near perfection...glad I have the old girl in case I need to fall back.

I probably will be checking out Best Buy soon to see if they have the 640 after the 17th. It's just frustrating having to wait and that it's going to be ridiculously hard to find this phone in the flesh. *sigh*

What's even more frustrating is the AT&T Lumia 640 XL is still saying coming soon on the website. Don't ask customer care because they have no idea. At this rate, I'll wait for the announced Cityman or Walkman while holding on my 925 as my DD.

I am using 2 Androids currently...
Down to 2 Windows phones sadly
My 535 is in it's box unused in the drawer along with the 925.

I'll grab the 640 if it does eventually show up at WalMart however.
I want the T-Mobile branded phone specifically...
I did like the form factor of the 535 and the 640 seems like the next step.

I'll put my data SIM in there and internet share from the 640.
T-Mobile tells me band 12 is working in our locale.

When/if I get the 640 I'll retire my Xperia and keep the ZF2 up.

Hoping you can get hold of the 640 metalchick!

I was just reading up on these the other day. I found an article that speculated AT&T L640 should be out around the same time as T mobile June 17??? and the XL version towards the end of month. Will post link once I find the article.

I was just at the local WalMart earlier today and they were selling the T-Mobile prepaid L640. I saw it on the rack with my own eyes. I was going to buy one but the store was crazy packed and I wanted to get the hell out of there.

i just got back from my walmart (had to get some dog biscuits) i checked and none out.. but they were in the process of stocking the shelves and i saw some cardboard boxes on a pallet that looked like it might be phones. i asked the lady working at the register if she could check the computer and see if any just came in. she claimed to be new and didn't know how to do anything but use the register... i was in to big a hurry to make a big deal and find someone who could help

but now that im home i can't help but wonder if some were just sitting in boxes 5 ft from the empty display.

I'm probably going to pick up a 1520. I can get one in pretty good condition with a SquareTrade protection plan for not that much more than a 640xl.

All I can say, is that Microsoft had better make sure they don't pull the same stunt with their new Windows 10 flagship phones as it will definitely be over for them, if it isn't already. After the relatively successful 521 was released I had a sense that they were finally starting to claw their way out of the abyss, but then they seem to have fumbled, and fumbling is something you just can't afford to do when you're at the bottom.

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile and they confirmed that the 640 was being released tomorrow. They said I would be able to order it from them on the phone, or that I could pick it up in stores. However, when I called the stores near me, none of them had any, or had any idea about the phone at all, like usual. I am just going to order it on the phone.

Went to 3 different tmobile stores... The first one told me a Microsoft rep came yesterday and told them the phone was delayed took the fall because of app install issues.... I immediately left....

2nd tmobile told me they will have it in store on the 20th

The 3rd tmobile looked it up told me the release date was tomorrow the 17th, and the price was $129 he would've ordered for me but their system wouldn't let him he told me I could come back tomorrow to try it again...

Went to a walmart and this was on the shelf
