Latest Issue with my Surface Book - Keys on keyboard?

Last night, I tried to lower the brightness of my keyboard, as I was in a brightly lit room, and cannot see the keys when they are that bright.

When doing so, here is what happens.

Lowering the brightness and increasing the brightness - NOTHING happens

Increasing the volume? Brings me to URL of Edge Browser
Decreasing the volume? Attempts to close the Edge Browser
Mute? Again, brings me to URL of Edge Browser

I have zero idea what took place. All updates are installed. I did a Power Button + Volume up two finger restart. Didn't fix the issue.

Now, I am stuck. Have no idea what to do. And you'll forgive me if someone tells me I need to do an entire reboot and start over with this machine, which I have two now 3 times since I got this device!!!

...... Did you check if your FN key is on? Those actions will do that if the FN key is on.

Wow. Just looked and it worked..THANK YOU.

One thing I noticed. I looks like when it's on a little light should light up. Mine doesn't, but when I hit it, went back to normal. Caps light works, this one doesn't. If that's all that's wrong I will take it.

You should exchange your unit if that light isn't working. That is probably not something a software update will fix so unless you want to be stuck with the back light on that key not working you should get the unit replaced.

That is odd that the light isn't on. Although I did have a funky situation randomly where I remember that my Caps Lock light was the opposite for some reason. It went away when I undocked and redocked though. But yeah, see if the light will eventually turn on when you undock and redock. If not, you may consider getting a new unit.

Firmware update might fix that.
