Latest Samsung Ativ S firmware updates

Last week, I upgraded to 10. Then I reflashed 8.1 with ITV csc and I received all the updates. I read on an other forum too that other italian users received it. This is a good news: maybe Samsung will support our devices with Win 10 too.

Ok Lukas, I'm a bit confused here. You said that you been with your ATIV S on Insiders program with W10M, then re-flash it back to WP8.1 and get the updates, so my question is which updates? For WP8.1 bringing it to WP8.1.1 official?

Yes, all the same updates that we all can receive in past only with with csc ATO. So official 8.1.1 (without Cortana for european languages) and latest fw update 2424.15.13.2
After all I updated to 8.1.2 with grozaman guide, using CustomPFD to change registy entries

you could update to 8.1.2 via Preview for Developers (not the Insider), no hack needed. All FW/SW updates are available via this app

Are you sure? Wasn't Ativ S pulled from PFD program after bootloop problem? I will try with an other Ativ in my home.

Tried, it received .306 update. Still 8.1.1 and no Cortana for european languages (Cortana works in Europe since .341, the one that generates bootloop without 2424.15.13 fw).

Are you sure? Wasn't Ativ S pulled from PFD program after bootloop problem? I will try with an other Ativ in my home.

nope

I got the 8.1.2 update without problems
the bootloop problem was solved a long time ago

8.10.14203.306 is not 8.1.2, it only an update of 8.1.1. With grozaman guide I got 8.10.15137.148 (8.1.2 or 8.1 GDR2) with new settings men?, Bluetooth keyboard compatibility and more....

now I feel ultra super depressed. I will throw this brick away. Its time to update to 950XL or going back to Android - LG V10 or Sony Z5

I'm going after 950XL too and will keep ATIV S for further experimenting or hacking, hehe.

I'm very happy with my Ativ S. If I can upgrade it to Win 10 (officially or with some hacks), I will stay with it at least an other year maybe

You dont need any new functions?
LTE, better camera, FULL HD display, bigger display (5.2 - 5.7), better sound quality, better performance etc.

Iam bit pissed off because I want to use SnapChat but WP doesnt have this app... then I saw the new LG V10 (android) and was like.. dude, I need a new phone. ASAP :-D The new Microsoft 950XL should be ok but the design.... :-(

Yes sure, but I can live anyway. I payed this phone 150 euros (used, but like new) more than an year and half ago and I think it's the best deal in my life. I will buy a new win 10 phone but I want to wait for better prices, no phone worths more than 600 euros/dollars, neither the best one in the world, IMHO eh.

Well... ok, its your choice but I need LTE so I need to change in the near future. I cant wait any longer. Ativ S is 3y. old now and it wont get WP10 (my opinion) so its time to move on. A new chapter waits on us

I moved forward, I sold Ativ and I bought a Lumia 930

I'm thinking about that too, but I would keep my ATIV as a spare phone. The upcoming 950 is a great phone as well, but way too expansive as a new device. So I'll keep an eye on the price of the 930, and when it drops between 250-300 €, I'll probably give it a try (hopefully with W10M of course). Whats your experience with your new 930 (e.g. battery life, etc.) in comparison with the ATIV S?

Battery life is better, phone is faster but not extremely much. What is annoying is the weight, to heavy, especially comparing with Galaxy Alpha. When I sold the Ativ (for 90 Euro) I am not thinking to buy Lumia but using a Galaxy Alpha (Android = bleah) when I saw the prices of L950 (around 700 Euro in Spain) I made a 2 years subscription (13 euro monthly) and I get the Lumia for 115Euro, was the last Lumia from Vodafone Romania, they had only one left and told me the 930 is EOL (end of life).
With 930 I am sure I get W10M and I am pretty satisfied by the choice.

Come on guys! Let's keep our ativ s, it has become a status symbol to me. Are fullHD and LTE really worth the betrayal ? And, of course, Samsung will decide to develop its firmware on the basis of what we write here

Why bigger, I really like the Ativ S because of the size and looks. Yeah LTE is a plus.
But did not see any new phone with the same size. They all are bigger.

this are not good reason:
-HD on 4.8" means 306ppi, 10% under "retina display" and fullHD is only battery eating
-3G+ means you have 42.2 Mbps and at this moment 4G with 100 Mbps is not standard in any region, I don't think my new Lumia have always more than 42 Mbps even if I have 150 Mbps by the contract
Lack of W10M remains only the good reason to sell the Ativ
p.s. if I broke/loose the 930 I wiil be back to Ativ
