Launch the onscreen keybaord

I am using the clipboard and have a database open. I click in a field to enter some information, but the onscreen nor writing keyboard opens. How can I manually launch the keyboard?

There should be a keyboard icon down in the system tray. If not, right click the taskbar and check "show touch keyboard button."

I forget where it is but in the settings there is an option to make the keyboard pop up everytime you touch a text box without a physical keyboard attached.

The Keyboard has to be brought up manually if in the desktop mode. If in the tablet mode the keyboard will automatically run if input is needed.
