Live Tiles Updates

So, I've got all these great live tiles on my new One M8, but have a question and couldn't find if asked before. May also be a dumb questions so apologies in advance if it's the case.

I have my lock screen set at 5 minutes but the tiles only update for 30 seconds. Am I missing a setting somewhere or is that the max time they'll flip unless the screen is touched?

If it is a stupid question than it it a very smart stupid question. ;-)
On my Lumia ( 925 on CYAN + P4D) it is the same. (just checked but I never really noticed before).
Guess it's a build-in fixed setting to prevent to much battery drain.

Ok, guess I really just wanted to know it wasn't only me and that I missed something obvious! That does make sense, though
