Location tagging without SIM card

Hey all,

I'm going to England on Boxing Day and am planning on taking my Lumia 1020 to use as a camera. I've since upgraded to the 1520, so it no longer has a SIM card installed in it. This may sound like a stupid question, but does the GPS and location tagging in photos work without an active service or Wi-Fi connected?

No worries GPS still works. It has noting to do with SIM card or wifi.
If not really belief it get your SIM out and wifi off and start HERE drive. You will see it still works.
