Locked out of 620, pin code definitely correct?!

I am locked out of my 620, it's asking for the lock screen pin but when I enter it, it says its wrong. It's *definitely* the right code as I used it only moments earlier when I turned battery saver mode on. Anyone had this? It's a shame I can't see the numbers as i type them in case there's an issue with the keyboard. I've tried going into emergency call to see that the numbers I'm pressing are correct and they look ok there. Any ideas?

Soft reset and try again?
(Hold volume down + power together till screen goes off, no data will be lost)

Cheers for the suggestion. I soft reset it many times and with it being a 620 I was able to take the battery out too. Nothing made a difference. I don't know whether the code got corrupted in the phone or whether the soft keyboard was misbehaving such that what I thought I was typing was something else. Unfortunately I couldn't see what I was typing because it only put dots up. In the end I hard reset it which initially was annoying but it was pretty cool that it recovered the phone from a backup only a day old.
